4.6 Summary
Based on (Weiss et al. 2004; Zhong et al. 2002b), a voltage controller is designed for an
inverter connected to a microgrid with local loads and a public grid interface. The controller
adopts repetitive control on a per-phase basis in order to reject harmonic disturbances from
non-linear loads or the public grid. An H design method is used to ensure that the controller
performs effectively with a range of local load impedances. The system has been modelled and
tested in MATLAB R
. The inverter model includes a realistic switching frequency
filter and a full model of the inverter PWM process. The results have shown that, apart from the
switching noise, the tracking of voltage references is very accurate. When the load changes, the
repetitive control loop converges and the tracking error remains very small after approximately
5 mains cycles.
