While prevention is better than cure, medical facilities in most Peninsula countries are of a high standard (though emer-
gency and specialised treatment may not be so readily or extensively available).
Problems particular to the Peninsula include respiratory complaints (due to the arid climate and high levels of dust),
sunburn and sunstroke, eye problems, and injuries resulting from the exceptionally high incidence of road accidents: it
pays to be extra vigilant on the roads.
