An escalation of civil war in Yemen makes regional headlines as the bombing of so-called Yemeni
rebels on Saudi Arabian territory threatens to destabilise an otherwise peaceful Peninsula.
2011
The Arab Spring erupts, leaving Bahrain in particular in turmoil. Peninsula governments crack down
on corruption and review their policies to quell the restiveness of local populations.
