The city of Abu Dhabi occupies an island connected to the mainland by three bridges:
Sheikh Zayed Bridge, which links Hwy E10 (Abu Dhabi-Dubai Rd) with Al Salam (8th)
St; Al Maqta Bridge, which connects Hwy E22 (Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Rd) and Hwy E20
(Airport Rd) with Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum (2nd) St; and Musaffah Bridge which
links Hwys E20 and E22 with Al Khaleej Al Arabi (30th) St.
All main roads run through the Abu Dhabi city centre and culminate at the Corniche.
Planned along a classic grid system, the central city would be easy to navigate if only
streets didn't have multiple names as well as numbers. Roads paralleling the Corniche
have uneven numbers (Corniche Rd being 1st St); those running vertically have even
numbers (hence Al Salam St is also known as 8th St).
The airport is about 30km east of the Corniche, close to Yas Island, which is accessed
by Hwy E12 (Sheikh Khalifa Hwy), which continues to Saadiyat Island and eventually
links up with the Corniche via Sheikh Khalifa Bridge.

is about 30km east of the city centre. It has three terminals, including

CAR
Abu Dhabi is 150km south of Dubai via Sheikh Zayed Rd (Hwy E11). All the internation-
al car-rental agencies have branches at the airport and within the city.
