North of Sharjah, Ajman is the smallest of the seven emirates. Although still comparat-
ively laid back, it too has been swept up in a wave of development in recent years. Addi-
tions include the big Ajman City Centre mall, fine hotels and the Emirates City residential
area.
For visitors, the main attraction is the pretty, palm-lined, white-sand beach. Strolling
along the Corniche, where locals like to barbecue and picnic in cooler weather, is a pleas-
ant way to while away some time.
