Many of Sharjah's top sights are scattered around the partly walled in
Heritage Area
and the adjacent
Arts Area
, just off the Corniche. Both are part of an ambitious long-term
redevelopment project called Heart of Sharjah, which aims to restore the historic buildings
and turn them into hotels, museums, shops and restaurants while preserving the feel of the
