Dubai Marina
& Palm Jumeirah
In Dubai Marina you not only find bobbing yachts but also the phalanx of buttercream-
yellow residential towers known as the Jumeirah Beach Residence (aka JBR) flanking a
popular pedestrian walkway. Jutting into the Gulf is the Palm Jumeirah, home to luxury
villas and resorts and anchored by the garish Atlantis - The Palm, which is served by a
monorail.

In this city of air-conditioned malls, this attractive outdoor shopping and dining
promenade was an immediate hit when it first opened in 2008. Join locals and expats in
strolling the 1.7km stretch, watching the world on parade from a pavement cafe, browsing
the fashionable boutiques or ogling the shiny Ferraris, Maseratis and other fancy cars
cruising by (Thursday and Friday nights).

( 426 0000; Atlantis - The Palm, Palm Jumeirah; adult/child Dh100/70; 10am-11pm; monorail Aquaventure)
This fantastical labyrinth of underwater halls, passageways and fish tanks recreates the le-
gend of the lost city of Atlantis. Some 65,000 exotic marine creatures inhabit 20 aquari-
