labyrinthine lanes of Dubai's heritage quarter (formerly known as the Bastakia Quarter),
teeming with restored wind-tower houses built a century ago by Persian pearl and textile
merchants. Today, no one lives here any longer and buildings house cultural offices, small
museums, craft shops and galleries. Feel free to peek behind open doors and pop into
