EATING PRICE RANGES

vice charges and taxes are included in the price:
$ less than SR30
$$ SR30-120
$$$ more than SR120
INTERNET ACCESS
Internet cafes are present in larger Saudi towns and are men-only domains outside of Jed-
dah and Riyadh. Connections are generally adequate and cost SR3 to SR10 per hour.
Most four-star and all five-star hotels and many coffeehouses now offer wireless access
if you have your own device.
The internet is strictly policed, with over 6000 sites currently blocked. Most are porno-
graphic, but they also include sites discussing politics, health, women's rights and educa-
tion. For a full list of internet topics prohibited by the Saudi authorities, visit www.al-
bab.com/media/docs/saudi.html .
LEGAL MATTERS
Saudi Arabia imposes strict Sharia'a (Islamic law), under which extremely harsh punish-
ments are imposed. For more information, see the Expats chapter ( Click here ) and consult
your embassy.
If you're involved in a traffic accident call 999 (it doesn't have to be an emergency),
don't move your car (even by 1m) and don't leave the scene until the police arrive.
