Most of Jeddah's midrange hotels are in Al-Balad. Jeddah's budget hotels rarely accept
bookings from Westerners.
Al-Bilad Hotel$$ HOTEL
( 694 4777; www.albiladhotel.net ; North Corniche; s/d SR520/650, bungalow SR950; ) Situated
halfway between the airport and downtown, the Bilad is much loved for its 'escape the
crowds' feel and cosy atmosphere. Facilities include a bakery, a lovely covered verandah
(with air-con in summer) and landscaped gardens with sea glimpses and birdsong.

( 642 8555; www.redseapalace.com ; King Abdul Aziz St; d/ste SR600/1100; ) Large, comfortable
rooms, albeit with slightly tired decor, at reasonable prices makes this a viable alternative
to the luxurious options elsewhere in town. The hotel has two restaurants.
