Tours
There are several excellent companies that organise tours around Doha, to the desert,
camel farms and Khor al-Adaid. They are often able to arrange access to private mu-
seums, private zoos and other interesting sights that are not open to the independent trav-
eller. They all offer similar sorts of packages, but some of the better ones include:
Arabian Adventures CULTURAL

Festivals & Events
Doha hosts a huge variety of events and entertainment with sports high on the agenda.
The sports event of the decade for Qatar was the Asian Games held in December 2006
with 45 nations participating in 423 events. The games prompted the building of a new
marina, hotels, beaches and major infrastructure which have enhanced Doha's image as a
top venue for international sporting events. The games also left a legacy of high-level in-
ternational competitions, tournaments and meets, many of which take place in the Aspire
Zone , an international standard sports facility. The 12th Pan Arab Games was held in Doha
in December 2011, the FINA World Swimming Championships will be held here in 2014,
and of course there's the 2022 FIFA World Cup to look forward to.
