In need of a makeover,
this tired old Mutrah favourite has large rooms, four or five with stunning views of the
harbour. Given its prime location, plum in the middle of the city's finest row of merchant
houses, it's remarkable that this hotel has survived. What it lacks in decor (and clean car-
pets), it makes up for in friendly, helpful service.

Near the fish market
and neighbouring the Marina Hotel, this travellers' haunt is in dire need of a facelift. If
you can ignore the down-at-heel interior, the basic rooms are clean and the cheapest in
town. Ask for a room that doesn't face a brick wall. Breakfast is not included.
