(Las Américas 168; mains S13-27; 9am-7pm)
This brash hole-in-the-wall, a little out of the
center, is well worth the trip (though not for the service or atmosphere). Chef Lucho pre-
pares some of the best ceviche in all of Chiclayo, served here with lovely
fried tortitas de
choclo
(corn fritters).

This popular place serves a bunch of different
dishes, all of them local favorites. If you're feeling brave, try the
chirimpico:
stewed goat
tripe and organs. If not, the
humitas
(a steamed fresh-corn cake) are tasty, plus there's an
extensive egg menu, steaks, seafood, pasta, chicken and
chicharrones
.

If you're
jonesin' for something other than industrialized ice cream, they do a decent job here with
the homemade stuff. Good flavors include pisco sour and

(an earthy Andean
fruit).
