CASA GANOZA CHOPITEA

Northeast of the cathedral, this 18th-century colonial mansion is one of
the best preserved in Trujillo. Stunning details include an elaborate gateway entrance,
300-year-old frescoes, Oregon pine pillars and beam ceilings, some of which are tied to-
gether with sheepskin. In addition to myriad other treasures, the building is also home to
the wonderful café

Owned and maintained by Banco Cent-
ral de la Reserva del Perú since 1972, this beautiful colonial mansion's history dates to the
17th century. It now houses exquisite period furniture (and a working bank), including a
writer's desk once used by Simón Bolívar.
