Get Lost in the Ancient City of Chan
Chan
The pre-Columbian city of Chan Chan ( Click here ) was, in its heyday, a staggeringly large
adobe urban center, covering more than 36 sq km of coastal desert - a remarkable feat of
urban planning and construction. Today, the city's remains include reconstructed decorative
friezes bearing stylized images that were highly important to the ChimĂș culture that built it:
fish, waves and seabirds.
