Kuélap
Matched in grandeur only by Machu Picchu, the fabulous ruins of Kuélap tower over the
Río Utcubamba, near Chachapoyas, at 3100m above sea level. The remarkably preserved
citadel, dating back to AD 500, is a monumental feat of stonework shrouded in misty cloud
forest - and it is nearly always uncrowded.
