Offline map
( 20-3062; Plaza de Armas; mains S15-38; 7:30-9:30am & noon-8pm) Inside Pisac Inn, this fine-
dining restaurant has organic salads and original dishes like pumpkin ravioli drizzled with
corn and cream. It doesn't always hit the mark but it has great ambience.

Information
There's an ATM in the Plaza de Armas. There are slow cybercafes around the plaza.
Getting There & Away
Buses to Urubamba and Cuzco leave frequently from the downtown bridge. Many travel
agencies in Cuzco also operate tour buses to Pisac, especially on market days.
Urubamba & Around
084 / POP 2700 / ELEV 2870M
Though the town of Urubamba has little of historical interest, it is surrounded by beautiful
countryside and enjoys great weather, making it a convenient base from which to explore
some of the surrounding sites in the Sacred Valley. (This attribute has made it a popular
pit stop for tour groups.) Located at a significantly lower altitude than Cuzco, it's also an
idyllic place to acclimatize prior to visiting Machu Picchu.
Sights & Activities
SALINAS
(admission S5; 9am-4:30pm) This is one of the most spectacular sights in the area: thou-
sands of salt pans that have been used for salt extraction since Inca times. A hot spring at
the top of the valley discharges a small stream of heavily salt-laden water, which is then
diverted into these mountainside pans and evaporated to produce salt for cattle licks. It
may sound pedestrian, but the visuals are beautiful and surreal.
