AROUND PUNO Highland Jaunts
Using the city as your base, this itinerary is perfect if you want a quick survey of the major
sights in and around Lake Titicaca.
On the first day, take it easy (you're up high!). Leisurely explore the splendid sights of
(1) Puno , such as its baroque cathedral and the charming Coca Museum, which in addition
to providing all manner of information on coca, has excellent exhibits on the costumes
worn during religious fiestas. If you're not winded, make a final stop at the Casa del Corre-
gidor for a little colonial splendor and some fair-trade arts and crafts.
On day two, go on a tour of the remarkable, inhabited (2) islands of Lake Titicaca .
