You can rent sandboards for S5 an hour to slide, surf or ski your way down the dunes, get-
ting sand lodged in every bodily orifice. (Though sandboarding is softer and warmer than
snowboarding, don't be lulled into a false sense of security - people have injured them-
selves doing this.) Many hotels offer thrill-rides in areneros (dune buggies). They'll drop
you off at the top of a slope and then meet you down at the bottom.
The going rate for tours at the time of writing was S45 (plus a S4 fee that must be paid
upon entering the dunes). Ask if a sandboard is included in the rate and how long the tour
lasts.
