1 MUSEO MARIA REICHE
No trip to the Nazca area is complete without a visit to this wonderful little museum (
Click here ) in honor of the archaeologist who dedicated more than 50 years of her life
to excavating and documenting the Nazca lines. The region is a destination because of
her.
2 MIRADOR
Right on the Pan-American Hwy at Km 424 is this 12m-tall viewing tower ( Click here
), which offers unimpeded 360-degree views of the area. From here, you can see the
glyphs known as the Tree, the Hand and the Lizard - as well as lots of trapezoidal
shapes. It's great for snapping pictures.
3 MUSEO DIDÁCTICO ANTONINI
This is an excellent museum ( Click here ) that provides a well-presented historical
overview of the region. It also contains numerous finds that have turned up at the
nearby tombs of Cahuachi - including lots of mummies.
4 REGIONAL COOKING
Nazca is an excellent spot to sample ceviche. We are on the coast so our seafood goes
straight from ocean to plate - the freshest! To accompany that, I recommend any dish
