Temperature regimes greatly influence not only the
growth duration but the growth pattern of the rice plants.
Rice varieties from Japan which has low temperatures during
the cropping season when grown in Indonesia which has
moderate to high temperatures during the cropping season, for
example, generally mature early whereas Indonesian varieties
when grown in Japan generally extend growth duration. In
temperate countries, generally, low temperature regimes limit
