Final Thoughts on Blog Promotion and Link Building
In this chapter we have covered some of the most effective promotional and link building
methods that exist, and they are also some of the safest and most conservative (in other
words, they don't risk a penalization from Google). They are all “white hat” techniques, and
maybe approaching “gray hat” at the most - never “black hat.”
These methods include social media promotion, article submissions, link exchanges, guest
posts, blog and forum commenting, building links from HubPages, PostRunner, and our own
miniblogs.
Between all these methods, you have everything you need to get your blog lots and lots of
traffic. These types of link building techniques are all manual (not automated), which makes
them the most tedious to build, but it also makes them the safest, the most powerful, and the
best for the overall growth and longevity of your blog(s). When you are not writing posts for
your blog(s), your time should be spent promoting your blog(s) and making them stronger
over time.
As you progress in your online career, you're going to realize there are thousands of link
building tools being sold that promise things like “it is completely safe”, “it is completely
automated”, “it will explode your online business with the click of a button”, etc. Be wary
of all these kinds of products! More than likely the product doesn't do what it promises, and
could even jeopardize your business in the long run. These products usually only exist to
make the owner money from sales of that product.
Stick to the promotional techniques described above (even though they are the most tedi-
ous), and you will be successful in the long run.
Remember: if you do the work that others are unwilling to do, you will get the results
that others will never achieve.
