People have different preferences regarding what social network they primarily use. For
this reason, I suggest you get your blog on
at least
the big three: Facebook, Google+, and
Twitter. If your blog is about something very visual (like photography), then I'd suggest
you take a look at also including your blog on Pinterest, Instagram, etc. Any additional net-
work(s) you add is up to you.
Once you've made a profile for your blog for each of the social networks you've selected,
it's time to find an elegant way to link to those networks from your blog. Some blogs
already have some elegant buttons right in the theme themselves, and if you have one of
those themes, all you have to do is activate the buttons (you'll have to figure out how ac-
tivate the buttons depending on what theme you are using, but it will be somewhere in the
theme settings).
If you don't have one of these themes, there are several plugins that will add social media
buttons for you. I suggest you look around for a plugin that fits your blog and personal
style, but my favorite plugin for adding social media buttons is The Social Links by Digital
Leap. With it, your social media buttons will go on your sidebar and will look like this:
Every time you publish a new post, take a few extra minutes to link to that post from each
of your social networks (i.e. link to it from your Facebook, Google+, Twitter, etc.). Every
