SEO General Website Settings
Note: I show you the actual configuration of the following settings in my video men-
tioned earlier in this chapter (lesson 3.2).
This is how you should configure your website settings to ensure top SEO performance.
They are all listed under “settings” in the backend.
1. Reading - For this section, make sure the homepage is displaying your latest posts. Pick a
number between 5 and 10 posts to display (based on your preference) and set your homepage
to display full posts.
2. Privacy - Make sure this is set to “I would like my website to be visible to everyone…”
3. Permalinks - In this one, you want to set the option to “custom setting” for your
permalinks and type in exactly this: /%postname%/ . What this will do is set up the URL
of each page of your website to match the post title or page title, giving you an extra SEO
boost for their targeted keywords.
The rest of the website settings can be modified to your preference, but as far as SEO is con-
cerned, they are fine at their default settings.
