Actually Writing your Blog Posts
So now you have the topic for your blog post and it is time to write! The goal here is to write
blog posts that are shared, commented on, or linked to as much as possible. How do we do
that?
By making every single post ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Seems obvious, right? Well it is,
but that doesn't mean that it's what most people do. In fact, most people don't write the best
pieces they can, even though deep down inside they understand that spending the extra time
to make the post the best they can will actually make their lives easier in the long run (if they
are trying to popularize their blog, that is).
This is because an amazing blog post will pay you over and over again for years to come. A
great post can bring in hundreds or thousands of visitors per day for years and years. It can
generate thousands of shares and comments and get your blog linked to from other webmas-
ters that are impressed with your work. Links from other websites will bring in direct traffic
from those websites, as well as increase your blog's ranking in the search engine results for
several keywords: this is the foundation of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This is when
you start to see your blog traffic grow exponentially (and as we know, more traffic = more
money!).
A mediocre post might bring you some search engine traffic and a handful of shares and
comments before the traffic to that post eventually dies forever. And then you'll have to
write another post to continue to bring traffic to your blog. So what is truly more work once
you consider the benefits…writing a mediocre blog post or writing an incredible one?
Remember, your willingness to not take shortcuts and put in the work is what will
make you successful in this business!
Ok, you get it: make your blog posts amazing! But how?
First, make sure your blog post covers a topic thoughtfully and thoroughly. In other words,
it deserves to be ranked as the # 1 article in Google for that topic. If you can honestly say
an article is as informative as it can be about a certain topic, you've probably written a great
article.
