Finding Post Topic Ideas Using the Google Keyword Tool
For this chapter, you can watch me doing the keyword research I describe below
in a video on this page: http://makemoneyfromhomelionsclub.com/lesson-2-1-how-to-do-
keyword-research-for-free-using-the-google-keyword-tool/ .
UPDATE: Google got rid of the Google Keyword Tool and replaced it with the Google
Keyword Planner. Luckily, the new tool also provides the information we need! I have
uploaded a new second video on that page showing how to use the new Google Key-
word Planner (Video Lesson 2.4), but be sure to watch BOTH videos entirely! All the
same lessons and concepts still apply.
* However, keep in mind that these video lessons were recorded to teach people how
to make generic passive income websites with a goal of making $5,000 per month pass-
ively (the model taught in my other ebook), not major blogs with a loyal readership
like I am teaching in this ebook (so follow the instructions in this ebook instead of the
instructions in the video lessons when creating your blog!). Even so, the information in
the videos is valuable in terms of learning how to think about this business and how the
Internet works, so I recommend you watch them all anyway and learn as much as you
can. After all, understanding the other business model (generic passive income web-
sites) will help you with this business model (major blogs) because both businesses are
built on similar principles (so you may as well learn it all - this will help you succeed in
the long run)! I personally run both business models for my personal website portfolio.
In this specific video I show additional information to determine the value of keywords
that rank #1 in Google search results using a keyword formula. For our purposes, you
can simply ignore that and focus on the global monthly searches.
So you've got your blog all set up and you're ready to write your first blog post! What
should you write about?
The best way to set up your blog is two have two types of blog posts: some post topics will
simply be “free writing” (where you just write about a topic you'd like to write about to
your heart's content) and the other post topics will be based on keyword research using the
Google Keyword Tool (a much more strategic way of writing blog posts). This combination
will be powerful because it will be appealing to readers of your blog AND to the search en-
gines that will send your blog traffic.
