The table of organic nutrient sources is divided into three
sections according to which nutrient predominates. Pick
whatever you have or can readily acquire from each category.
For example, I will pick soybean meal for nitrogen, bone
meal for phosphorus and greensand for potassium.
The N number for soybean meal is 2.5 and I need 2 oz. of
nitrogen, so:
Ounces of Soybean Meal Needed= 100 x (2/2.5)
= 80 oz.
The P number for bone meal is 21, and I need 1.25 oz. of
phosphorus, so:
Ounces of Bone Meal Needed= 100 x (1.25/21)
= 6 oz.
The K number for greensand is 7 and I need 3.5 oz. of
potassium, so:
Ounces of Greensand Needed= 100 x (3.5/7)
