In-Depth Information
Just as with the system based on electrical conduit, the pipe
slides down over 18” pieces of re-bar you have hammered
straight into the ground at the ends of the bed and at four-foot
intervals.
Four-foot intervals are required for most plants because PVC
isn't as strong as electrical conduit. But if you decide to grow
something extremely heavy, you can use the shorter
cross-pieces and put more vertical supports using tees.
Place deck screws along the trellised side of the bed spaced
every six or twelve inches as needed, and use these to anchor
string or wire running between the bed and the cross-piece.
