The Natural Environment
No other country in Europe is as densely packed with nature conservation sites as
Wales, and the natural environment here is protected with a near visionary zeal. The
craggy peaks, rugged coastlines and patchwork fields harbour numerous historic, cul-
tural and economic treasures and the Welsh people are fiercely proud of them.
Thankfully, the National Assembly is now equally passionate about Wales' diverse
landscapes, enshrining sustainable development into the statute books.
