WORTH A TRIP
THE WHITE EAGLE, RHOSCOLYN
Tucked away in the southwest corner of Holy Island, the White Eagle ( 01407-860267; www.white-
eagle.co.uk ; Rhoscolyn; mains £11-15; noon-3pm & 6-11pm Mon-Fri, noon-11pm Sat & Sun; ) has been
zooshed up and transformed from a past-its-best village pub into a snazzy eatery. The menu is more inventive but
the portions remain pub-sized and the service is friendly, if not always completely polished. There's also a good
selection of beer, perfect for downing on the back deck on a sunny day.
Information
Holyhead doesn't have a tourist information centre but some of the local stores stock bro-
chures. The South Stack Cliffs RSPB Reserve ( Click here ) visitor centre is a good for ad-
vice about local walks.
