There's a large pay-and-display car park on the waterfront, by the castle. If you're pre-
pared to walk, there are often free parks on the Menai Bridge approach to town.

Benllech
Benllech is a small holiday town with a Blue Flag beach and an even better Blue Flag
beach at nearby Llanddona. In between is Red Wharf Bay, apparently named after a Vik-
ing battle which drenched the beach in blood. Perhaps Benllech's main claim to fame is
that Lemmy from the heavy metal band Motörhead grew up here.

Bus routes include 62 to Amlwch (26 minutes), Moelfre (six minutes), Menai Bridge (18
minutes) and Bangor (29 minutes); and 50 to Beaumaris (20 minutes).

Moelfre
POP 1070
Moelfre is the prettiest harbour village on the east coast. A stream splashes between the
old stone houses before cascading down a waterfall and exiting onto the stony beach.
