Arriving in Wales
London Heathrow Airport Has connecting flights to Cardiff Airport and direct coaches to Chepstow (£37, two hours),
Newport (£37, 2½ hours), Cardiff (£43, three hours) and Swansea (£44, 4¼ hours). For train connections, catch the
Heathrow Express to Paddington Station.
Cardiff Airport Bus X91 heads to central Cardiff (£3.90, 30 minutes, every two hours). Shuttle buses (£1) head to
Rhoose train station, where trains continue to Cardiff Central (£4, 30 minutes, hourly). Allow £30 for a taxi.
Holyhead Ferry Terminal Trains head to Rhosneigr (£4.10, 12 minutes), Llanfair PG (£7.70, 29 minutes), Bangor
(£8.70, 30 minutes) and Conwy (£13.50, one hour).
Fishguard Harbour Trains head to Cardiff (£24, 2½ hours) via Carmarthen (£8.60, 52 minutes).
Getting Around
Car Driving will get you to remote corners of Wales not connected to public transport. Cars can be hired from the main
cities and the airports.
Bus The most useful form of public transport, with routes connecting most towns and villages. Many services don't run
on Sundays. National Express coaches only stop in major destinations.
Train The network isn't extensive, but it's handy for those towns connected to it. Trains are comfortable and reliable,
but more expensive than the buses.
