Sygun Fawr Country House

sturdy stone house, tucked away at the end of an exceptionally narrow lane. Bits have
been grafted on to the 1660s core over the centuries (including a conservatory), so each of
the 12 comfortable bedrooms is quite different; some have spectacular mountain views.
It's well signposted from the A498, immediately northeast of the village.

friendly place is the best B&B in the heart of the village. It has seven uncluttered, recently
refurbished rooms (each has its own bathroom, but only five are en suite), and a lounge
full of maps and books.

Tanronnen Inn

tractive stone coaching inn offers a hearty pub menu (mains £9 to £12), ranging from
sausages and chips to chicken tikka masala. Upstairs, busy carpets lead to rooms that are
comfortable, if a little dated.

Glaslyn Ices & Cafe Glandwr

excellent ice-cream parlour is the busiest place in the village. It serves a huge array of
homemade flavours and is attached to a family restaurant offering simple meals, espe-
cially pizza.

all-rounder (with a separate children's menu) serving big breakfasts, light lunches, Sunday
roasts and cooked dinners in summer. The riverside seats are a prime tea-supping spot.
