many hostels that have paid as much attention to the soft furnishings and decor as this
one, but Plas Curig is exceptional in many ways. Most of the built-in bunks have curtains
(a simple but effective concession to privacy) and there's a large well-equipped kitchen.

and bar with a roaring fire - Capel Curig's liveliest spot after dark (mains £15 to £18).
