Tŷ Morgans
( 01597-811666; www.tymorgans.co.uk ; East St; mains £6-15; ) This relaxed bar and bistro serves a
good selection of food all day ranging from basic sandwiches to pub classics and grilled
Welsh steaks. There is also a selection of tastefully decorated rooms (from £60) upstairs
but those above the lively bar can be noisy, especially on weekends.
Drinking
Triangle Inn
( 01597-810537; www.triangleinn.co.uk ; Cwmdauddwr; mains £7-13) This tiny 16th-century inn, just
over the bridge from the town centre, is the pick of the local places to drink for its unique
sense of character and history. It's so small that the toilets are across the road and the ceil-
ing is so low that there's a trapdoor in the floor so that darts players can stand in a hole to
throw their arrows. Hearty pub classics make up the menu.
