( 01239-612133; www.coldatnight.co.uk ; 1 Cambrian Quay) Cardigan's main outdoor-activity com-
pany, Fforest Outdoor, has a cafe and shop by the south end of the bridge and a flash set of
camping options near the WWC. If you fancy splashing along the River Teifi, Fforest of-
fers guided canoe or kayak trips through Cilgerran Gorge as well as climbing, sea kayak-
ing, coasteering, surfing and white-water rafting expeditions and bushcraft trips.
CEREDIGION COAST PATH
Not to be outdone by its showy neighbour across the Teifi in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion has opened up its own
shoreline to the relentless march of coastal walkers. You can now walk 63 miles along a waymarked path between
mouths of the Rivers Teifi and Dovey.
A sensible six-day itinerary would see you stopping overnight in Aberporth (12 miles from Cardigan), New
Quay (14 miles), Aberaeron (6.5 miles), Llanrhystud (7.5 miles), Aberystwyth (11 miles) and Borth (12 miles);
each has its own sandy beach to relax on at the end of the day. The truly hardcore enthusiast could tack this on to
the end of the 13- to 15-day PCP - a total of 249 continuous coastal miles.
For more information, visit www.walkcardiganbay.co.uk . The Cardi Bach bus ( Thu-Tue Jul-Oct, Mon,
Thu & Sat Nov-Jul) covers the coast between Cardigan and New Quay year-round, making it easy to split this
stretch into day-long walks.
