Getting There & Away
The main bus stop is on Blue St. Bus X40 links Carmarthen with Cardiff (two hours),
Swansea (45 minutes) and Aberystwyth (2¼ hours). Take bus 280 or 281 for Llandeilo
(40 minutes) and Llandovery (1½ hours), 322 for Haverfordwest (one hour) and 460 for
Cardigan (1½ hours).
National Express ( www.nationalexpress.com ) destinations include London (£26, 5¾ hours), Chep-
stow (£19, 2¼ hours), Swansea (£6, 45 minutes), Tenby (£5.50, 40 minutes), Pembroke
(£5.50, one hour) and Haverfordwest (£7, 1½ hours).
The train station is 300m south of town across the river. There are direct trains to
Cardiff (£17.60, 1¾ hours), Swansea (£8.60, 45 minutes), Fishguard Harbour (£8.80, 49
minutes), Tenby (£8.70, 41 minutes) and Pembroke (£8.70, 1¼ hours).
