Delicious eco-
conscious breakfasts and stacks of local info are served with a smile at this waterfront
guesthouse. Some rooms have sea views; our favourite is room 9, where the dormer win-
dows open out to create a virtual deck from within the sloping roof.

Eating & Drinking
The famous Mumbles Mile - a pub crawl along Mumbles Rd - is not what it once was;
many of the old faithful inns have succumbed to the gastropub bug. Newton Rd does have
some rather nice wine bars, though, which aren't too bad for a spot of celebrity spotting.

Jones
( 01792-361764;
www.jonesbar.co.uk
; 61 Newton Rd)
The best of the Newton Rd wine bars, Jones
buzzes with 40-somethings giving the chandeliers a run for their money in the bling
stakes. There's no chance Dylan Thomas ever did hang out here, or would if he still could,
but there's a good wine list and a friendly vibe.
