west bank of the River Tawe. To its south and east are the redeveloped docklands of the
Maritime Quarter, linked to the new SA1 district on the Tawe's east bank by the graceful
Sail Bridge (2003). The bus station and tourist office are on the western edge of the city
centre, by the Quadrant shopping centre. The train station is 600m north of Castle Sq
along Castle St and High St.
Uplands, where many guesthouses are found, is 1 mile west of the centre, on Mansel St
and Walter Rd. From the south edge of the centre, Oystermouth Rd runs for 5 miles west,
then south along Swansea Bay, becoming Mumbles Rd.
