In-Depth Information
SWANSEA IN…
One Day
Potter around Swansea's Maritime Quarter in the morning, splitting your time between the Dylan Thomas Centre
and the National Waterfront Museum. Devote your afternoon to exploring the Gower: scoot down to Three Cliffs
Bay, hike up to Arthur's Stone and wander along Rhossili Bay. Cap it off with a pint at the Joiners Arms before
heading back to Mumbles. Stroll along the promenade before dinner, and a end with nightcap at Jones.
Two Days
Take a long, leisurely drive into the Carmarthenshire countryside. Take a gander at a Canadian goose at the Na-
tional Wetland Centre ( Click here ) , storm Kidwelly Castle (Cadw; 01554-890104; www.cadw.wales.gov.uk ;
Castle St; adult/child £3/2.60; 9am-5pm Apr-Oct, 9.30am-4pm Mon-Sat & 11am-4pm Sun Nov-Mar) or get
green-fingered at the National Botanic Garden of Wales ( Click here ). Call into Carmarthen Market ( Click here )
for some ham, then follow the A484 along the River Gwili and then the Teifi as far as pretty little Cenarth. If
you've got time, call into the National Wool Museum ( Click here ), before pressing on to Llandeilo for the night.
Three Days
After yesterday's driving, spend today within a few miles' radius of Llandeilo. Carreg Cennen Castle ( Click here )
is a highlight of any Carmarthenshire trip. Spend the morning among the battlements before heading back to
Llandeilo for lunch. Divide your afternoon between Dinefwr Park & Castle ( Click here ) and Aberglasney Gar-
dens ( Click here ) or, if you didn't make it there yesterday, the National Botanic Garden.
Eating
The main eat streets are Wind St and St Helen St in the centre, with a range of pubs, cafes
