Coliseum is a wonderful combination of high-tech comfort - digital screening and Italian
chairs - and glamorous vintage touches, with old-style usherettes, plush curtain drapes
and deco doorhandles. In addition to its mainstream offerings, the local film society shows
art-house films on Monday evenings.

Male Choir

monies, head to the practice sessions of the local men's choir; visitors are welcome. Since
its formation in 1937 it has performed at London's Royal Albert Hall eight times and has
even released its own CD.

Theatr Brycheiniog

the town's main venue for drama, dance, comedy and music. It's worth checking the pro-
gram, as it sometimes hosts surprisingly big-name touring acts. Its restaurant,
Tipple'n'Tiffin, serves good tapas-style food and more substantial dishes.

Getting There & Away
Bus X43 heads to Abergavenny (50 minutes), Crickhowell (26 minutes), Merthyr Tydfil
(37 minutes) and Cardiff (1½ hours); bus X63 to Swansea (two hours); bus 39 to Hay-on-
Wye (40 minutes); and bus 704 to Newtown (two hours) via Builth Wells (40 minutes)
and Llandrindod Wells (55 minutes). Most Beacons Buses routes converge on Brecon.
The Market car park offers short-stay pay-and-display parking. There are long-stay lots on
Heol Gouesnou and near the canal basin.
