town, plus excellent home baking, soup and snacks. It's located in an endearingly wonky
pistachio-coloured cottage.
Roberto's

plastic vines hanging from the trellis on the ceiling, but everything else about Roberto's is
authentically Italian, from the relaxed atmosphere to the free olives and crostini, to the
puttanesca sauce. Though, of course, that's Welsh beef lurking underneath the gorgonzola.

and the full range of Breconshire Brewery real ales on tap. It has a sunny beer garden
overlooking the river, and regular live music.

( 01874-623900; 86 The Struet) Arguably the best real-ale pub in town, with Evan Evans beer
from Llandeilo and a range of guest ales, the riverside Bull's Head is cosy, quiet and
friendly. At the time of writing it was being refurbished, with plans to add a bunkhouse.
