TREKKING
Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru both have challenging treks to the summit for anyone who is
reasonably fit and well acclimatised. Other highlights: the Crater Highlands, and Ol Doinyo
Lengai.
CULTURES
Maasai warriors are just one of northern Tanzania's tribal groups, but there are many more
to get to know. These include the Chagga on Mt Kilimanjaro, the Iraqw around Karatu and
the Meru and Arusha peoples around Arusha town.
