roundabout along the road heading to Mikindani. Arriving by bus, ask the driver to drop

Travellers' Paradise Inn

located multistorey hotel has small, modern, comfortable rooms, all with one double
Zanzibari-style bed, fan and hot water, and a small restaurant with Indian, Chinese and con-
tinental cuisine (meals Tsh10,000 to Tsh12,000). It's just off Uhuru Rd; turn opposite NBC
bank and go down about 150m.
Mtwara Peninsula Hotel

decent-value rooms, all with one double bed and fan, in the quiet Ligula area of town. From
the Tanu Rd-Saba Saba Rd junction, follow Saba Saba Rd 600m to the signposted left-hand
turn-off. Go 200m after turning, and the hotel will be on your left. There's also a restaurant.
Naf Blue View Hotel

bus stand and just past Dubai restaurant, this new place is one of the better bets in the busy
market/bus stand area, with small, modern rooms with running hot water, a tiny gym and
meals on order. There are no nets, but staff told us they could arrange them on request.
Bambo Guest House

(Makonde Rd; r Tsh12,500) This is one of the better of the shoestring options near the bus
stand, with no-frills rooms with fan and meals with advance order. It's just past Naf Blue
View Hotel.
