pansive grounds on a working coffee plantation in the hills 20km west of Mbeya. Accom-
modation includes spacious standard rooms, two-storey king-size suites with balconies, a
rustic family room and no-frills self-catering cottages in separate grounds. Guides and car
rentals can be arranged for exploring the surrounding region, and there are tennis courts.
Take the Tunduma road west from Mbeya for 12km to Mbalizi, where there's a signpos-
ted turn-off to the right. Follow this road 8.5km, keeping left at the first fork. The lodge is
signposted to the right. Via public transport, take any Tunduma-bound dalla-dalla to Mbal-
izi, from where sporadic pick-ups en route to Chunya will take you within about 2km of
Utengule.
