east of the park gate, has attractive stone cottages spread along a grassy field frequented
by grazing zebras and gazelles. Given its proximity to the highway, it's not a wilderness
experience, but the animals don't seem to mind and you'll probably see plenty from your
front porch. Vehicle rental is posible with advance notice. Credit cards are only accepted in
its Dar es Salaam booking office, at Oyster Bay Shopping Centre.

570; ) Under the same management as Vuma Hills, this eight-tent upmarket camp is
set on a rocky outcrop with good access to the rewarding wildlife-viewing circuits around
Chamgore and Mwanambogo dam in Mikumi's northeastern section, and with views over
the surrounding Mkata plains. It's 6km off the tarmac road and accessed via a signposted
turn-off about 29km northeast of the main park gate.

6.30am to 6.30pm.
GETTING THERE & AROUND
Bus
There is no vehicle rental at the park, so you'll need to have your own car or arrange a
rental in advance with one of the lodges. It's often possible to see animals along the road-
side if you're passing through on a bus, but the buses move too fast for decent viewing.
Good budget options for visiting the park include the safari packages offered by Chilunga
Cultural Tourism in Morogoro, or hotels in Mikumi town.
