TENGERU
Site of the biweekly Tengeru Market ( Click here ) , about 10km east of Arusha
and just off the main highway, the Tengeru program includes visits to a coffee
farm and a local school, and an introduction to the life of the Meru people.
Homestays can be arranged.
SLEEPING
CITY CENTRE WEST
The best budget area in Arusha is the Kaloleni neighbourhood, north of Stadium St and
east of Colonel Middleton Rd (a 10-minute walk from the bus stand), whose dusty streets
host many cheap guesthouses and local restaurants/bars. Hotels in the busy central market
area south of the stadium are mostly a few steps up in both price and quality, but also noise.
There are a few good midrange choices here too, but at this level most people prefer to be
in quieter eastern Arusha.

this area. And it has Mt Meru views.
