small, friendly church-run place has simple double-bedded rooms with hot-water showers,
and meals with advance order. Profits help support an affiliated technical training college
(visits can be arranged) and work with local youth. It's 1.8km before town, on the left when
coming from Soni. Ask the bus driver to drop you.
Karibuni Lodge GUESTHOUSE $

Tsh15,000-25,000; ) This private house has a handful of rooms, some with bathroom,
and meals with advance notice. It's signposted about 1.5km south of the town centre near
the district hospital and set back from the main road in a patch of trees; ask the bus driver
to drop you at the hospital.
St Benedict's Hostel GUESTHOUSE $
(camping Tsh10,000, s/d Tsh20,000/30,000) One larger double plus several smaller rooms,
all no-frills, and meals with advance order. It's next door to the Catholic church.
Masaule Resort Centre B&B $

home has one small and two larger rooms attached to the family quarters, and meals on or-
der. It's diagonally opposite the post office.
Lushoto Sun GUESTHOUSE $
( 027-264 0082; d Tsh15,000-20,000) Rooms here are cramped, but clean and with hot
water. Out front is an inexpensive restaurant. It's on the main road just south of the Cathol-
ic church.
Near the market and bus stand area there are many shoestring guesthouses, all with ser-
viceable, but mostly scruffy and undistinguished rooms and hot-water buckets on request.
Kialilo Green Garden Motel ( 0715-237381; s/d Tsh18,000/30,000) is a step above the
rest, with small, clean rooms around the shared living room and eating area, and food with
advance order. Others, all considerably more basic and scruffy, include View Point Guest
House ( 027-264 0031; s/d Tsh12,000/15,000, without bathroom Tsh8000/12,000) ,
where you should ask for rooms in the annexe, and New Green View Guesthouse (d with/
without bathroom Tsh10,000/7000) , next to the Tayodea office. To reach all, head left
when coming out of the bus park and cross the small footbridge. New Green View Guest-
house is straight ahead. Kialilo is left and up the hill, and View Point is diagonally opposite
Kialilo.
