There's camping (per person US$30) at both Zigi and Amani with your own tent and sup-
plies.
Reserve Guesthouses RESTHOUSE $

or without bathroom Tsh12,000; ) There are two reserve-run guesthouses: the Amani
Conservation Centre Resthouse at Amani and the Zigi Rest House at Zigi. Both are reas-
onably good, with hot water for bathing and filtered water for drinking. The rooms at Zigi
have bathrooms and are large (with three twin beds), quieter and marginally more com-
fortable, while the setting and rustic atmosphere are better at Amani. Meals are available
at both (breakfast/lunch/dinner Tsh3000/5000/5000), though it's a good idea to bring fruit
and snacks as a supplement. The Zigi Rest House is directly opposite the Zigi informa-
tion centre. To reach the Amani Conservation Centre Rest House, once in Amani continue
straight past the main fork, ignoring the 'resthouse' signpost, to the reserve office. The res-
thouse is next to the office.
Emau Hill Forest Camp CAMPGROUND $

good camping, comfortable permanent tents sharing ablutions and a small cottage with
bathroom, all in a wooded setting with fine birding. Continue 1.5km past Amani on the
Kwamkoro road to the signposted turn-off, from where it's 3km further along a narrow
bush track.
INFORMATION
There's an information centre ( 8am-5pm) at the old Station Master's House at Zigi
with information about the area's history, animals and medicinal plants.

Tsh5000/US$30) is at Amani. Fees for entry and guides (per person per day US$15) can be
