The main cluster of guesthouses is along the western side of Nungwi, where there's not
much ambience and little to distinguish between the various places, but plenty of activity,
especially towards the southern end of the strip, from Paradise Beach Bungalows south.
Northeast of here, in Nungwi village, are a few more options. Around the tip of the cape
and past the lighthouse on the eastern side of the peninsula, everything gets quieter, with
a handful of hotels spread along a low cliff overlooking the water and a narrow strip of
beach. Most of Nungwi's hotels have restaurants, and in the village there are several shops
with basics.

ted rooms in somewhat stern-looking two-storey tile-roofed blocks overlooking a mani-
cured lawn and a small patch of beach. They're clean and good value, all with small sea-
facing balconies, and with more space and quiet than at some of the other central hotels.

small garden just in from the beach in a quieter spot on the northeastern edge of Nungwi.
All have fan, and some have a small kitchenette and minifridge. Breakfast is served on your
verandah; dinner can be arranged with advance order. On the same premises is

Langi-Langi Beach Bungalows

) This appealingly named place is in the centre of Nungwi next to Amaan Bungalows,
and just in from the water. Rooms are clean and fine, if undistinguished, and despite the
crowded location, it's an amenable choice. There's a restaurant.
